SUMMARY:How Investors Actually Decide - Fireside Chat with Entanglement
DESCRIPTION:You are starting to wonder whether a spin-off could be an option. Maybe you’ve said it out loud already\, maybe not. \nEither way\, the same question follows quickly: how do I actually find an investor? Who are they? What do they want to see? Is it too early to talk to one — and if so\, what does “too early” even mean? And if you’ve already founded\, the question has only changed shape: which kind of money is the right one\, and who do you actually want on your cap table? \nFrom inside a lab\, investors tend to look mythical — a black box you approach once\, with one shot\, hopefully at the right moment\, hopefully with the right deck. That framing is wrong\, and it costs researchers years. \nThis is a small\, closed round to take it apart. No presentations\, no pitch slots\, no feedback round. Just an honest conversation about how early-stage deep tech capital actually works\, with people who do it for a living. \n  \nJoining us from Entanglement Inc. \n\n\nJohn Tadayeski \n\n\nKyle Pickens \n\n\nFinal line-up confirmed shortly before the event. \n  \nWho this is for \nPre-doc\, PhD and PostDoc researchers\, plus non-academic technical people\, in quantum and quantum-enabling fields who are: \n\n\nalready building a company\, \n\n\nactively deciding whether to spin out\, or \n\n\nstill working out whether founding is something they want at all. \n\n\nYou do not need a company\, a deck\, a co-founder or a plan. Curiosity and a real question are enough. \n \nGround rules \n\n\nInvite only\, handpicked\, limited seats. Small enough that everyone speaks. \n\n\nChatham House Rule. You are free to use what you hear; you are not free to attribute it to anyone in the room. That protects candour on all sides. \n\n\nNo pitching. Nobody presents\, nobody evaluates you\, nobody takes notes on you. If you want a pitch setting\, tell us — we’ll point you to a different format. \n\n\nEnglish. Questions in German are welcome; we’ll bridge where needed. \n\n\n  \nGood to know \n10 seats. SUMMARY:Quantum Reality Check - Webinar #3 - Quantum Sensing
DESCRIPTION:Alle warten auf den Quantencomputer. \n  \nFormat: Online-Vortrag | 30–40 Min. Input + Q&A | 60 Min. gesamt \n  \nTeil des „Quantum Reality Check 2026″ — organisiert von der FFG in Zusammenarbeit mit weXelerate — die Unternehmen branchenübergreifend an Quantentechnologien heranführt\, vom ersten Überblick bis zum Quantum Ideation Day am 25+26.11.2026.

SUMMARY:2nd weXelerate EA Sports FC Turnier
DESCRIPTION:Last time we found out who in the weXelerte ecosystem can actually play. Now we’re doing it again — more trash talk\, more questionable last-minute tactics\, and a bracket that gives everyone a fighting chance. \n  \nWhether you last held a controller in 2011 or you have a documented sweat rate on the right stick: you’re in. Our special matching algorithm makes sure nobody spends the whole evening losing 7–0 to a stranger. (Unless that’s your thing. No judgment.) \n  \nThis one is purely for fun. The result is very much secondary. Mostly. \n  \nHow the evening runs\n🕠 17:30 — Doors open. Registration & warm-up phase: get your thumbs moving and size up the competition.\n⚽ 18:00 — Kick-off. Show up later and we can’t guarantee you a spot in the tournament — the bracket waits for no one.\n🏆 21:00 — Planned finish. Anyone who still wants to play\, plays on. \n  \nSnacks & drinks are on us\nFuel for the thumbs\, consolation for the eliminated. No one goes home hungry — victorious is a different question. \n  \nGot a PS5?\nMore consoles means less waiting around. If you can bring hardware\, just tick the box at registration. Eternal gratitude included. \n  \nWho’s invited\nThe whole weXelerate ecosystem: hub tenants\, coworkers\, corporates\, investors\, founders\, partners\, alumni — if we work together\, you’re welcome. Just tell us at registration how we’re connected so we can curate the guest list properly. \n  \nControllers ready. SUMMARY:Quantum Reality Check - Roundtable #2: Quantum Computing & AI (Innsbruck)
DESCRIPTION:Erste Use Cases\, ehrlich bewertet — unter Peers\, ohne Vendor-Filter. \nAblauf Tag 1 \n\n\n12:30–13:00 Check-in QRC Roundtable \n\n\n13:00–16:00 QRC Roundtable: Quantum Computing & AI \n\n\nOptional: \n\n\n16:15–16:45 Transfer zum Campus Technikstraße \n\n\n17:00–18:00 Podiumsdiskussion\, Fish-Bowl-Format\, Erwin-Schrödinger-Saal\, Uni Innsbruck \n\n\n18:00–20:00 Stehempfang\, Campus Technikstraße \n\n\nAblauf Tag 2 (Optional)\nQuantum Innovation Forum — Details siehe Programm.

SUMMARY:From Research to Founder: A Fireside Chat with Rupert Ursin
DESCRIPTION:Austria does world-class quantum research. What happens next with it has become a real question: spin-offs have moved from rare exception to something institutions\, funding agencies and research groups now actively talk about. Spin-off strategy is on the agenda. \nWhich leaves a quieter question with each individual researcher: am I the right person to walk that path? \nNot whether the technology is strong enough. Not whether there’s a market. But whether this is something you actually want — and whether you’d be any good at it. That question is hard to ask out loud\, because there’s rarely anyone in the room who has genuinely done it. \nRupert Ursin has. This is a small\, closed round to ask him everything: what the path really looked like\, what it cost\, and what he wishes someone had told him at the start. \nOur guest \nRupert Ursin — physicist and company builder. He did his PhD under Anton Zeilinger\, led the quantum communication group and served as Deputy Director at IQOQI Vienna (Austrian Academy of Sciences)\, and then built what most researchers only discuss: qtlabs\, founded in 2017\, today one of Austria’s substantial deep tech employers\, entirely privately owned. He went on to found ZeroThird and co-found Quantum Space Systems. He stayed close to the science the entire way. \nWho this is for \nPre-doc\, PhD and PostDoc researchers\, plus non-academic technical people\, in quantum and quantum-enabling fields who are: \n\n\nalready building a company\, \n\n\nactively deciding whether to spin out\, or \n\n\nstill working out whether founding is something they want at all. \n\n\nYou do not need a company\, a deck\, a co-founder or a plan. Curiosity and a real question are enough. \nGround rules \n\n\nInvite only\, handpicked\, limited seats. Small enough that everyone speaks. \n\n\nChatham House Rule. You are free to use what you hear; you are not free to attribute it to anyone in the room. That is what makes the honest answers possible. \n\n\nNo pitching. Nobody presents\, nobody evaluates you\, nobody takes notes on you. \n\n\nGerman and English. The conversation follows the room; ask in whichever you think in. \n\n\nGood to know \n10 seats. SUMMARY:Investing in Quantum: Where Value Is Created — and Where Capital Burns
DESCRIPTION:Everyone knows quantum. Far fewer know what’s actually inside it. \nFor most investors\, deep tech remains a black box: hard to evaluate\, long cycles\, heavy physics vocabulary\, few usable criteria. The result is that quantum cases either never get looked at\, or get judged on the wrong signals. \nThis session won’t make you a quantum expert in 90 minutes — nobody does that. It will give you a working framework: where value sits in the stack\, which questions to ask\, and which answers should stop a conversation. \nWhat makes that possible here is the material we have to work with. Austria runs quantum research at genuine world level\, and the spin-offs coming out of it are far enough along to be worth examining properly. We use them as the working material rather than abstract theory. \nWho this is for \nBusiness angels\, pre-seed and seed investors\, family offices and corporate venture teams who want to evaluate deep tech seriously but lack a working framework for quantum. International investors attending invest.austria are particularly welcome — this is designed as a compact orientation before the conference. \nIf you already run a quantum portfolio\, you won’t hear much that’s new. Register anyway — we value having that perspective in the room. \nWhat this is not \nNot a pitch event. No startups present\, no one is raising. Founders looking for capital are not the audience for this format. \nHeld deliberately on the eve of the invest.austria conference (4 November) as a compact primer for those already in town. The timing leaves evening dinner commitments untouched. \nLimited seats. Registration subject to approval. \nA Qubit Founders format\, coordinated by weXelerate \nRegistration: here
